Oly: Athens Games close with unforgettable tag
The Athens Olympics have closed, with IOC president JACQUES ROGGE declaring them unforgettable.
The International Olympic Committee president has declared the Games over but has declined
to compare them with previous Olympics.
ROGGE's predecessor JUAN ANTONIO SAMARANCH traditionally declared each Games the best
ever -- a tag last applied to Sydney.
ROGGE has instead paid tribute to the enthusiastic and competent Athens organisers.
He's also made reference to the number of drug cheats caught in Athens.
ROGGE says it's becoming increasingly difficult to cheat with drugs and the Athens
Games has better protected clean athletes.
